NoDesign has supported Air Liquide in the creation and deployment of a CO2-free offer from production to delivery (cradle to door). To carry out this project, NoDesign conducted an important survey and collection of knowledge on the subject, through interviews with engineers and sales managers of the company, visits to production sites, as well as interviews with many clients and prospects in France, Belgium and Portugal. The primary objective of this study is for Air Liquide to anticipate the tightening of regulations on carbon accounting and the increase in carbon taxes.

Design of the offer

In parallel with this study and thanks to the knowledge gathered on the subject, NoDesign organized an important product definition workshop with several executives from different Air Liquide business units around a game of assumptions and specific content developed for the occasion. Far from the open and simple approaches of design thinking, this “augmented” workshop focused on issues and content aims to bring together stakeholders internally to create knowledge and consolidate the offer, its pricing and the commercial strategy of its deployment.

ISO certified software solution design

Thanks to the understanding of Air Liquide’s issues and the in-depth study of greenhouse gas emission reporting standards and ISO standards, NoDesign contributed to the positioning and definition of the service offer and piloted the design of a measurement tool compatible with ISO* standards for the first time. To materialize this offer, a software solution called “Tracker” was designated by NoDesign and developed by Air Liquide, to allow the tracking of “molecules” since the purchase of energy, energy consumption for gas production to transport for delivery to the customer. “Tracker” is a key component of this “Carbon Neutral” system, which calculates the daily carbon footprint of the gases produced based on the decarbonized energy mix (ENR, Dam, nuclear).
