Repairable Battery for e-Bikes and intermediate vehicles
Gouach batteries are the result of years of research into solderless assembly and monitoring of Lithium-Ion cells. Unlike a conventional model, Gouach batteries are assembled using a clever mechanical system that allows the battery pack to be completely disassembled with a simple screwdriver. Coupled with a circuit board (BMS) capable of monitoring individual cells, this battery can be reconditioned by replacing only the few cells at the end of their life.

NoDesign designed this new product with the ambition of sustainability, controlling investment costs, and minimizing the environmental impact of its manufacturing.

For the external casing, second-life aluminum was preferred to traditional plastics. The production of recycled aluminum requires only 10% of the energy needed during its initial manufacture. Like glass, aluminum can be recycled infinitely. Therefore, its carbon footprint is lower than plastics such as ABS or polycarbonate*. Finally, aluminum extrusion, the manufacturing technique chosen for this product, is an industrial process requiring moderate investment in tooling and expertise that is widely used in Europe.
