Digital remedial and support service in French and mathematics
MIA Seconde
Mia Seconde is an educational support platform for learners and teachers in French and mathematics. Developed by EvidenceB and supported by the French Ministry of Education and Youth, this tool enables the construction of adaptive pathways specific to each pupil thanks to AI. The application also supports teachers in monitoring the pedagogical progress of the class and of each student.
NoDesign worked with EvidenceB's teams to design the offering and proposal for this tool, developing the design, naming, functional and media production strategy.

Re-thinking exercise
MIA Seconde has been designed for high school classes in professional, general and technological French "Lycées". The application offers 20,000 adaptive exercises in the two target subjects. Initially, students are invited to take a test to assess their level. Depending on the result, the AI will suggest adapted exercises, taking into account various parameters (time spent and percentage of success). The AI can also provide the application with the results of the test taken at the start of the second year of secondary school, which is designed to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each new high school student. It offers different ways of working. Students can practise individually or in pairs, in class and at home. Teachers are able to use several modes for different pedagogical activities.
Working with the EvidenceB team, the NoDesign team came up with solutions to make the statements easier to understand, but also to provide clear graphical answers.

An interface designed for students
Students can also consult the bank of support resources (300 short videos explaining certain concepts) or the in-depth resources that offer ideas for pedagogical activities (MIA Tube).
MIA refines the exercises proposed to monitor student progress as closely as possible. AI picks up more signals than a teacher can, seeing where students have hesitated, where they are comfortable, which helps teachers in their teaching decisions. In particular, it can identify gaps.
The dashboard features allow students to track their progress and teachers to monitor the work done by their students on an individual basis as well as their progress in terms of learning, with alerts in the event of difficulties or blockages encountered by a high school student (time spent and percentage of success).
The digital pedagogical offer includes exercise modules for both subjects on the topics listed in the table below. The aim is to provide remedial teaching for all student profiles. Some sets of exercises are designed for students with severe difficulties to meet a wide range of needs, such as those in the maths modules: "Re-learning number sense" and "Understanding the concepts of proportions and fractions’" and those in the French modules: "Re-learning grapheme/phoneme correspondences" and "Reading decoding fluency".
