Originally linked to industrialization, and concerning mostly disparate categories of objects, design seems to resist any systematic discourse and theories. Gathering nearly thirty articles, this publication deals with the historical and aesthetic, social and economic issues of design. It enriches various works, especially from the Anglo-Saxon countries, on the history, practices and current events of design. Knowing that design is now an essential cog in the creation, innovation and even more so in consumption, this book puts into perspective the future of our industrial societies.
